Makhadzi opens up about her financial struggles in a recent conversation with Mac G and Sol Phenduka.
The South African diva traveled to Los Angeles for the BET Awards, where she received the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act accolade.
However, she stated that all of the money spent on the flight was borrowed because she did not have any.
Makhadzi gave this sensitive information while praying throughout the interview.
The Ma Gear hitmaker thanked God for the victory, stating that it would have been pointless to fly for 24 hours only to lose out on the honor.
After her prayer, Mac G inquired about loaning her money, and she said that she needed to borrow since she was struggling with tax debt.
Months ago, Makhadzi made news for owing R2.7 million in taxes.
The singer stated that she cannot afford to jet herself out of the country because she has spent all of her earnings on debt repayment.
Limpopo-born singer Makhadzi revealed she borrowed money to attend the 19th annual BET Hip-Hop Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, where she won the Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act award.
