Xitsonga Music: Songs & Album
|The Tsonga Tribe of Northern South Africa, Mozambique, and South Africa produced these extremely frantic and fast-paced beats in the 1990s, along with playful low-fi synth melodies. In the previous ten years, this genre was also advertised globally as Shangaan Electro. Always performed during traditional ceremonies, weddings, and gatherings; very animated, eccentric, and cheerful.
The playing of a wide range of musical instruments is the foundation of the Tsonga’s illustrious musical history. Stringed, wind, and percussion instruments can be categorized into these three groups.
